Reese's Room

In addition to supporting families of children with cancer, we are working closely with hospital administration at VCU Medical Center to renovate the Radiation Unit. Our first project completed was a new waiting room for children undergoing treatment and their families. We took advantage of a barren unused space and created a warm, family friendly environment that accommodates children. This room, affectionately called “Reese’s Room”, is complete with a T.V., books, games, and other activities designed to provide a comfortable respite for children and their families.

 Cancer radiation treatment is scary for all cancer patients. ReeseStrong’s next project within the hospital aims to extend the compassionate atmosphere of “Reese’s Room” into the radiation treatment rooms. Cosmetic refurbishment of the linear accelerator rooms will create a more uplifting and relaxing atmosphere particularly for pediatric patients and their families.
