Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 8:13PM ReeseStrong was approached by a family whose son is battling neuroblastoma. He will be traveling back and forth between New York City and Richmond for surgery/treatment. His family asked for a nice stroller to accomodate their growing son during their travels. They received their new stroller just in time to bring their little boy home from New York after surgery to remove his abdominal tumor.
Monday, April 26, 2010 at 8:24PM The ReeseStrong team made a splash at the annual ASK 5K and Family Fun Walk to benefit families of children with cancer being treated at VCU Medical Center. Our team had 85 participants and raised over $2,000 for ASK. The event itself raised over $140,000! Everyone had a great time celebrating the lives of these brave cancer warriors. Be sure to join us next year!
Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 1:21PM ReeseStrong is working with ASK to design a family friendly waiting area and recovery space for pediatric patients being treated in the Radiation Oncology department at VCU Medical Center. The space should be fully functional by summer 2010.
Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2:09PM ReeseStrong donated 4 portable DVD players to the ASK pediatric oncology clinic at VCU Medical Center today. The children will use these players while waiting for or undergoing treatments at the clinic. Thanks to everyone that supported our Chili's night in December - this is where we raised enough funds to purchase the players!
Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 8:28PM The Vienna Connection printed an article about the Hammond family and their trip to New York to see the Giants play. ReeseStrong was thrilled to help Scott and his mom Diane spend this time together along with our partners ASK, CJSTUF and the Levi family.
Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 5:37PM Reese was adopted by the Randolph Macon Women's Basketball team in the Fall of 2009 through the Friends of Jaclyn organization. Friends of Jaclyn pairs children with brain tumors with a local sports team to provide support and encouragement to the child during treatment and recovery. Reese's partnership with Randolph Macon had been a wonderful experience for the team and for Reese and her family as well. Read all about it here:
Monday, January 18, 2010 at 7:53AM ReeseStrong collected toys in the month of December to donate to the ASK organization. ASK will use these toys throughout the year for children in the hospital to help them celebrate birthdays or other milestones such as ringing the chemo bell. We are already in conversations with ASK to determine how we can support this organization going forward.
